The 1.3-litre Multijet engine on the present Fiat Punto delivers a 51 KW at 4,000 r/min and 180 Nm at just 1 750 r/min. It allows the Punto 1.3 JTD Multijet a top speed of 164 km/h and a 0-100 km/h time of 13.4 seconds. Fuel consumption figures are among the best in the segment with a combined cycle of 4.5 litres/100km.
Fiat says this engine is the smallest and most advanced second generation common rail direct injection diesel engine and features multi-point injection, 16 valves, an intercooler and a particularly efficient combustion chamber shape. When clad with all its accessories it weighs only 130 kg.
The Multijet system gives more precise injection of fuel, and also leads to much quieter running.

The new Indica is longer and wider than the current model with more legroom inside. The new Indica would be powered by a 1.3 litre quadra jet common rail direct injection (CRDI) diesel engine (sourced from Fiat and the same engine which does duty in the Swift) and a 1.2 litre VVT petrol engine which would be manufactured at the Fiat-tata plant at Ranjangaon in Maharashtra. The new Indica would have larger 14 inch wheels with 175/65 spec tubeless tyres and finally the tyres fill up the wheelarch unlike the current Indica. The new Indica is likely to be priced between Rs.4 – 5 lakh and would be launched by mid 2008.

I have been blogging since last one year but I always had a thought in my mind that the blog should not only be left like a blog just for discussions,It should be moulded like a website that can be used in many ways like providing softwares, providing information about various subjects without others interrupting comments, providing the platform for professionals to put up their own professional wesite representating them or their company or just representing the individual.Well…. enough of it,but what I want to say is this opportunity has been provided to me by wordpressblog and I would rather make use of it in the best way i.e providing links to the softwares.

replacement for esteem- the Dezire:
Long expected sedan version of Maruti’s swift will be making its world premiere at the delhi auto expo. Maruti’s new swift sedan is likely to be christened as ‘dezire’ and will replace the esteem as SX4 did with the Baleno. Take a popular hatchback, attach it with a boot and sell it is as a new sedan. If you don’t like this concept, here is a fact which is sure to bring you back into the article. Maruti has already launched the SX4 with a killer price and its new dezire will be priced below the SX4. That means Maruti would price the dezire at a rock bottom price to knock down logan and Indigo is on the line. Maruti Suzuki would launch Swift in the price range of 5 – 6.5 lakh rupees. Also to keep the check on the input cost, Maruti has sourced most components for the dezire from the swift hatchback. Hence attractive pricing is for sure.

- There are different kinds of internal combustion engines. Diesel engines are one form and gas turbine engines are another. See also the articles on HEMI engines, rotary engines and two-stroke engines. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages.
- There is such a thing as an external combustion engine. A steam engine in old-fashioned trains and steam boats is the best example of an external combustion engine. The fuel (coal, wood, oil, whatever) in a steam engine burns outside the engine to create steam, and the steam creates motion inside the engine. Internal combustion is a lot more efficient (takes less fuel per mile) than external combustion, plus an internal combustion engine is a lot smaller than an equivalent external combustion engine. This explains why we don’t see any cars from Ford and GM using steam engines.
